plainly.
We collect the minimum information needed to run Ralko — just an email and a username — and we don't sell it. Here's the short version, then the details if you want them.
- ·Email + a username is all you need to play. Everything else is optional.
- ·Location is one-tap, not always-on. We use it when you check in or set a geofence — never silently.
- ·We don't sell your data. No ad networks, no third-party trackers.
- ·Delete anything, any time. Email support and we wipe your account within 14 days.
01What we collect
- EmailRequired. Used to sign you in via one-time code.
- UsernameAuto-generated so you can stay pseudonymous. Editable.
- BioOptional. A short blurb you choose to add to your profile.
- Skill & preferencesSkill, play style, preferred times, home courts — used to match you.
- Check-insCourt, status, timestamp. This is what powers the live map.
- MessagesMatch requests and direct messages between matched players.
- Push tokenA device ID for notifications. Stored only while pushes are on.
- Server logsIP, app version, timestamps for debugging. No third-party analytics.
02Location & check-ins
The map is the product, so location matters — but we only ask for it when you act on a court.
When you tap “I’m here” or “Heading there,” your phone shares its location with us, once. We don't run continuous background tracking. If you turn on geofence notifications, your phone wakes Ralko when you arrive — your device handles the geofence locally and only the arrival event reaches us.
You can revoke location access from your phone's settings at any time.
03Sharing & vendors
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. The only outside parties that touch your data are the vendors we use to actually run the app:
- HostingCloud infrastructure within North America runs our backend and database.
- EmailA transactional email provider sends sign-in codes and waitlist updates.
- Push deliveryApple Push (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) deliver pushes.
Each vendor only receives the data needed for that single job.
04Your rights
Wherever you live, you can access, correct, or delete your account data, and you can turn off any notification, location permission, or email at any time. To delete, see our Delete account page.
Ralko is operated from Toronto and our practices follow Canada's PIPEDA. We respond to access requests within 30 days; deletion typically much sooner.

Privacy questions go to support@getralko.com — real humans, usually back within a day or two.
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top and notify active accounts by email before changes take effect.
